What?
Does a German university degree offer better career or networking perspectives? This event explores how studying can help kickstart a freelancing career in Germany, but also looks at alternatives to an academic path.
In the first part of the event, there will be a panel discussion featuring cultural and creative professionals from the fields of performing arts, film and music:
Gizem Aksu is an independent choreographer and dancer from Instanbul, Veneta Androva is a visual artist and filmmaker from Sofia and Nabil Arbaain is a musician and composer from Damascus. The event will be moderated by Mariana Senne, theatre maker and performer from São Paulo. All of them are berlin-based and will share their experiences of starting their self-employment in Germany and navigating different educational paths along the way.
Engage with them and ask your questions in an open dialogue!
In the second part of the event, you have the opportunity to get to know exciting programs and talk directly to their representatives.
We have invited representatives from university programs such as the University of the Arts and the Film University BABELSBERG as well as from consultation and professionalisation offers such as Creative Service Center by WeTeK Berlin gGmbH, Bildungswerk des bbk Berlin, KOMPASS Creative Support by Coopolis, ISI (Initiative Selbständiger Immigrantinnen e.V.), Goldrausch, NewMotion and our coopertion partner Touring Artists.
Get to know these programs better and ask your questions directly on site!
Or if you simply want to exchange ideas and chat with other participants – Join our speed dating session!
This networking event is part of the event series Get started! First steps in self-employment in cooperation with touring artists. This series of online and offline events aims to provide aspiring freelancers with a roadmap to navigate the world of freelancing in Germany. In addition, we would like to provide you with helpful tips, good practice examples and connect you with other artists and creative professionals in Berlin.
