Program description
Once a year, the Dezentrale Kulturarbeit allocates funds from the Berlin Project Fund for Cultural Education. Funding is provided for so-called tandem projects, i.e. cooperation projects between an educational institution of the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district and artists. Eligible for funding are innovative approaches that contribute to the cultural education of children, adolescents and young adults in the district.

The cultural offices of the Berlin districts administer the district cultural funds, which are intended to benefit decentralized cultural work in the districts. This is intended to create/maintain a lively art and culture scene in the districts. In addition, the funded projects should be particularly noticed by the neighbourhood.

The application deadline for 2023 was January 31, 2023, and an application deadline for 2024 is yet to be announced.

Funding criteria
- The Berlin Project Fund for Cultural Education funds cooperation projects and events that are important for the cultural education of children and young adults in the district (so-called tandem projects).
- Funding is provided for innovative approaches that contribute to the development of cultural education in the district.
- Concepts for all artistic disciplines as well as interdisciplinary and theme-oriented projects will be considered.
- Decisive for the selection are content-related, methodical, artistic and pedagogical quality.
- The projects should be developed for and by children and young people living in the districts and include appropriate presentations. They should provide impulses for a broad (specialist) audience.
